SafeBasic reachability test

ping <target>

Sends ICMP echo to check reachability and latency. First step in triage. -t pings continuously (stop with Ctrl+C).

Examples

  • ping 8.8.8.8External reachability without DNS
  • ping -t 192.168.1.1Continuous ping to watch for drops

Syntax

ping [-t] [-n count] [-l size] <target>
