vzdump

SafeProxmox backups

vzdump <vmid> --storage <st> --mode snapshot

Backs up VMs/containers (snapshot mode = no downtime); restore with qmrestore. Pair with scheduled jobs.

Examples

  • vzdump 101 --storage backup-nfs --mode snapshotOnline backup of VM 101

Syntax

vzdump <vmid> [--storage s] [--mode snapshot|stop] / qmrestore <file> <vmid>
