SafeTrace file system calls

sudo fs_usage -w -f filesys <process>

Live-traces a process's file I/O — see exactly which path it touches when it hangs.

Examples

  • sudo fs_usage -w -f filesys FinderWatch Finder's file access

Syntax

sudo fs_usage [-w] [-f filesys|network] [pid|process]
