Packs objects and prunes garbage to shrink .git. Usually automatic; run manually on bloated repos.

Examples

git gc --aggressive --prune=nowAggressive cleanup

Syntax

git gc [--aggressive] [--prune=now]

Before you run it

--prune=now reduces recovery options.
