git config --global credential.helper <helper>

Configures how HTTPS credentials are stored — repeated auth failures usually mean a stale token in the helper.

Syntax

git config credential.helper manager|store|cache / git credential-manager ...

Before you run it

'store' is plaintext; prefer OS keychains.
